The deadline to be added to the performance/ display list is tomorrow (4/5). Contact Heather Millinger (heather.millinger@gileadchristianschool.education). All GCS parents, staff and Grade 4-12 students are invited to participate. We really want to make this a celebration of the talents God has given to our school community!
Our Tech Theater class started learning about lighting today. To demonstrate how color is due to reflection and absorption of light, students tried to sort M&M’s under red, green, and blue lights. It is not an easy task!
March Students of the Month's theme was attitudes.
Kindergarten: Cub & Millie, 1st: Hudson & Brooklyn, 2nd: Ava, 3rd: Teagan & Allan, 4th: Levi, 5th: Jesse & Nora, and 6th: Lilly. Miss Hibbits was awarded Teacher of the Month, and Ms. Shepherd received Staff of the Month (not pictured).
In 5th grade social studies, we learn about the culture of the Western Hemisphere, both ancient and current. As we have looked at many different people groups, we have learned that a common characteristic is the ability to make useful things out of environmental resources. In order to experience this in a small way, the students made coil baskets out of clothesline and yarn.
We are still accepting entries for the upcoming Fine Arts Cafe. All GCS parents, staff and Grade 4-12 students are invited to participate. If you have been blessed with any talent in the arts -music, literature, theater, dance, visual art- then, please join us and share your ability. We really want to make this a celebration of the talents God has given to our school community!

More of our prop cakes from Theater Class!
These cakes look good enough to eat…almost.
Theater students were tasked with making a fake cake that was large enough to be seen from the stage, sturdy enough for an actor to handle while on stage, and appealing enough for the audience to believe it could be real. The results looked really good.
Today was Speech Meet Chapel at North Campus. Students who received the highest marks during their classroom speeches a few weeks ago performed for the entire student body. This Thursday in the North Campus Gym at 6:30 pm, they'll present their speeches again for another panel of judges followed by a cookie reception and awards ceremony.
