It's one week till our auction, and a Monopoly-themed auction wouldn't be complete without a custom-made GCS-themed Monopoly game! Put a house in Mr. Eanes' office or a hotel on the North Campus playground, but whatever you do, stay out of detention. Come to our auction, November 14th, 6 pm - 9 pm, for your chance to bid on this one and only game.

Our high school students will be providing childcare during our auction next week, so your children can have fun while you bid on all the items we have to offer. The High School is asking for a suggested donation of $5, with proceeds going to the 7th - 12th grade classes.

The GCS Theater Department has announced auditions for their 2026 spring musical, "Alice in Wonderland: A Rock Musical". Auditions are open to GCS students and homeschoolers in grades 7th-12th.
Please note these important dates:

Students will also be asked to do a cold reading. Due to several factors, we do not know when auditions will end. Please plan around 4:30-5pm.
-Dec 12th @ 3:15-5:30pm-Read-Through. Students will receive their scripts, and we'll read it together as a cast.

Yesterday, after shopping for Operation Christmas Child, students refreshed themselves at McDonald's.
For one night only! Tickets are now on sale for our winter play, "How Miss Finch Stole Christmas!" In this entertaining holiday comedy, Miss Elvira Finch hates Christmas and everything associated with it, from the decorations to the noise. When she discovers a loophole in the town charter, she sets out to rid Newville of Christmas once and for all. Will she be successful? Join us to find out. This play runs about 30-40 minutes and is perfect for the whole family. Call or stop by the High School office to purchase your advance tickets.
Happy Reformation Day! The Juniors and Seniors celebrated Reformation Day after finishing their projects on some of the reformers as well as modern day Christian Leaders.
Ms. Saunders' class went on a word hunt this week to find 20 words around the classroom.
The GCS band took a field trip to Music & arts! They shopped for music gear, ate chipotle, and devoured buckeyes!

Typical Robotics class; an experienced student helping new students, an older student working with autocad designing a more complex robot. This is a student centered activity. They do the work and they get the credit.

The Theater Class has been studying about performance space. Student groups picked alternative spaces to write a skit for and performed it there. This activity demonstrated that theater doesn't have to only take place on the stage; it can be done at a cafe, playground, or parking lot.
Mrs. Johnson and Miss Hibbits' first graders have been learning about writing complete sentences and paragraphs. This afternoon they joined together to read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert today and went on a nature hunt to find leaves to make into their own leaf men. Throughout the rest of this week they will be writing paragraphs to tell the story of where the wind blows their leaf men.
