The GCS Cyber Eagles travel to the Mt Vernon Energy Field House (near Mt Vernon HS) for their first tournament of the season. Qualification matches will run from 10 until 2, with elimination matches to determine who proceeds to the state championships. The students have designed, built and programed their own robots and now they compete against the top high teams in the state.

6th grade had a gingerbread decorating contest which proved to be pretty competive. After the judging, the studends participated in the clean up. The boys deserve an honorable mention for repurposing the wreckage of a demolished train and making it into a Bethlehem Inn.

Our teachers and staff are so blessed to have such an amazing PTO that spoils us for the holidays!

Join us this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel at South Campus (Gilead Friends Church) as we retell some of O. Henry's classic stories, such as "The Gift of the Magi. " Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the South Campus office or at the door.

On Friday afternoon, December 13th, some of our sixth graders volunteered to join in the Food Pantry ministry of Edison Enterprise Baptist Church which distributes food monthly to those in need.
Lillian L. and Casen B. filled vital roles in packing boxes with proper portions as folks proceeded through the assembly line. When discussing this opportunity, we first wanted it to be an offering of love and with the ambition of giving back to our community as expressed through the hands and feet of Christ. Beyond that we learned that developing relationships and experiencing the benefits of service added many blessings not imagined.
The organization includes a wonderful group of volunteers who faithfully serve. Hat's off to the staff and volunteers who make it all happen. May your ministry be fruitful in the increase of the Kingdom of God.

First grade on a digraph hunt in their books!

The Theater Department has also announced their spring show, "Aesop Live!" Auditions will be open for students in 7th-12th grade. Please see below for important dates.

Wow! We had an amazing turnout of students to walk with us tonight. So many showed up that we ran out of space on the float! Thank you also to those in the service who walked with us.

For those who ordered spirit wear shirts and opted for pick-up, your shirts are ready for you at the South Campus Office. Some people ordered shirts as Christmas gifts, so all shirts will stay in the office for pick up until 12/12. Orders left by then will be brought to the gym for pickup during the K12 Christmas Concert. After the concert, any leftover orders will be sent home with the students.
Those who chose to have their shirts shipped should have already received their orders. If you haven't your shirts, please get in touch with Embroidery Warehouse.
